This garden was designed for an elderly lady with limited mobility who wished to have a beautiful, low-maintenance outdoor space that she could still enjoy and tend to herself. Her main request was for a raised bed to grow herbs, strawberries, and other small edibles, making it easier for her to reach and care for her plants.

We suggested keeping her existing miniature apple trees, as well as some of her favourite roses and established plants, to preserve the garden’s familiar and personal character. A raised planter with an integrated bench was added so she could sit and rest comfortably while gardening.

Some areas, such as the shed and other wooden features, were refreshed with new paint, while the patio near the house was left as it was, simply cleaned as the client requested.

Although the garden is small, thoughtful design choices and lighter tones have made it appear larger, brighter, and more inviting — a calm and accessible space that reflects both practicality and charm.
